The National Addiction Memorial honors the loved ones we’ve lost.

My nephew Jesse was a gentle soul he would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need. Jesse would always kid us about being an Angel because he would never age, even though he was almost 34 he looked like a young teenager. He would tease us about his baby soft hair - he didn’t like anyone touching it. I know that the day he left us God definitely gained a true angel.
Jesse was a true living angel but unfortunately his demons got the best of him. We miss his beautiful smile and his personality. Angels do exist among us because he was one of them.

This is my girlfriend. We just celebrated 20 years together on October 12. She was the love of my life. She had a heart of gold for old senior dogs, we share 10 together. The last dog she got is in the picture. 5 months previous she had lost our 13 year old and she was devastated. He was her baby. She seen this little dog at a nearby shelter and she sent me his picture and told me how he reminded her of her baby that passed. We went over the next day and adopted him. She was so happy. The day she was to take him for a vet check she passed away. I walked in and found her. I didn’t know she was using. She never had, I don’t know when it began. I'm so angry at this addiction that’s taking all of our loved ones away.

My only son Curtis was my pride and joy. He was always so kind and sweet to everyone. I don’t think he had a mean bone in his body until the addiction got a hold of him and he didn’t care who he hurt. He always told me he loved me and that he appreciated me raising him on my own without a father. The night before he passed away he sent me a text and thanked me and told me he loved me. That gives me a little comfort today knowing we were on good terms when he passed away.

My Daddy~
Father of 8 children. 5 sons and 3 daughters. My Daddy recently passed away a few weeks ago. He is now with my Mommy in Heaven and we have Glorious Angels watching over our family. The upcoming Holidays are going to be hard on our family, but we are very thankful for all they did for us while here on Earth. May he and my Mommy have a wonderful Thanksgiving in Heaven. We miss you both everyday, but we know you were tired and wanted to go home and be with God and other family members.

My sister loved to dress up. She was so beautiful. I miss her smile and laugh.

Mikey was my firstborn son. He was funny, kind, interesting, and smart. He always wanted to learn at least a little about a whole lot of things. He was a friend that would give you the shirt off his back - literally - several friends have shared that he did just that. He was a big brother. He was a grandson and a nephew and a cousin. He was a son that loved his momma with his whole heart. The life he lived was not an easy one. Addiction plagued the last 7 years of his life. The help he was so desperately in need of was never found. He turned 25 just 6 days before we lost him. The last thing I said to him on his birthday was that 25 would be his best year yet. I believed that with my whole heart. Just 7 days later he was found. Gone. No chance to be saved. My baby was alone in his last moments of life. It kills me each and every day to think of that. My beautiful boy was alone. I know his pain is over but I’ll never get over mine. My greatest wish for this world is that no momma has to feel this.

My precious son. One of the most compassionate, loving people I've ever known. His smile could light up a room and that laugh was absolutely contagious! He loved big and he loved hard and if he loved you he made sure you knew. Fly high my baby, your struggle is over now! Until we meet again💜

Mike became addicted to opioids about 8 years ago. I tried in every way possible to get him the help he desperately needed. Unfortunately, he lost the battle on October 4th, 2017. He was the love of my life and I miss him every day. He called me his princess, and he will always be my prince.

Had a Spirit that you wanted to be near, a contagious smile that lit up a room! You were blessed just knowing him! A girl magnet and a wonderful Son, Brother, Cousin, Nephew and Grandson! His loss has still left us mourning him!!! He was born with the addict gene and he thought he was taking a pill he was used to! Unaware it was laced with a fatal dose of fentanyl!

Anthony loved to make people laugh... He enjoyed riding motorcycles, his job sheetrocking and most of all his 3 children... We were together 15 years and he was the most loyal gentle man. He loved me unconditionally. I will miss him every second of everyday until we are together again... He will always be my forever.... Fly high my love... Forever 36

My Son Allen was the most loving and caring person I have ever known. We were best friends. We did everything together. He was doing so good for many years. Then he found out he was type1 diabetic. He fell apart, was having a hard time, and slipped up. I came home from work to find him. Lifeless on the floor. My heart breaks all day. I lost the one person that made my life worth living and its so hard to go one without him. I lost my baby boy and I can't wait till I get to be with him.

Blake's birthdate was 1/31/85. He was my first born and only son. Conceived with much love and anticipation. He was such a good baby and a very outgoing and adventurous child. He never met a stranger. He was a friend and loved by many.
Unfortunately Blake became addicted to opioids after a knee surgery 6 years ago led to complications and prescription abuse. Somewhere along the line he crossed over to heroin although very few people including myself were aware of this. Blake and his girlfriend moved to Florida and it was there that the addiction took hold if his life. Blake had recently found sobriety and was planning to return home after a recent breakup with his girlfriend. I had already prepared a living area in my home for his fresh start. Unfortunately it was not to be. He relapsed the morning after I last spoke with him and purchased what he thought was a small quantity if heroin. He was found dead hanging out if his truck that morning. Turns out he ingested a deadly dose of pure fentanyl. He probably didn't even know what hit him. Another statistic, but my beautiful boy. I miss everything about him. The amazing dimples God gave him and the way you could see his pulse beat through the side of his neck. I miss his smell and the way he called me Mama. I just know I was blessed to have been the mother of such a kind and beautiful soul. I thank God for letting me spend the time I did with him, and look forward to the day we are reunited in God's heavenly kingdom.

My daughter struggled for years with her addiction but was doing so well right before her death. She was in college for criminal justice, she wanted to work in a field that she could help others that were struggling with addiction. She had a bubbly personality and loving heart that brightened up everyone whom she came in contact with.
She was still struggling though with demons from her past and present and on that last day she was given a lethal dose of fentanyl, four times the lethal dose. She was murdered in my mind, and her family and friends'.
My daughter Alexis will forever be loved and missed!

My James how I miss you. We were supposed to spend the rest of our lives together watching the kids grow up and eventually having grandbabies.. The last 7 years that I got to spend with you was the best of my life. I'll never look at the sky the same way as I did when I was with you. I miss sneaking off and ending up at the creek late at night. Going out and just driving to see where we ended up.. My heart is completely shattered without you by my side. I miss falling asleep in your arms, listening to your heart beat. You were taken away from me way to soon and it's not fair at all. I love you so much.. I can't wait to be in your arms again.. Untill then... I'll love you for always and forever...

Gage was one of those beautiful people that God sends only for a little while. He loved animals, people and music. He began using at the age of twelve. At age 22 the demon of addiction finally took his life with a self inflicted gunshot wound to the head. I miss his voice and his laugh. I just miss him. Everything about him. Our family has shattered into a million pieces but in a way that is good. We are all healing in one way or another. I miss you my Bumpy! ❤️Nan.-heartbroken Aunt and biggest fan.

Timmy was a happy, bright, caring young man. Always smiled and could light up a room with his humorous disposition. He loved pets and and shopping. Wrote music. Always wanted to be a teacher. He received a presidential honer upon graduation. Being bilingual at an early age he continued his goal of college early. Unfortunately, with the use of over the counter medications he self medicated, which became an addiction. He shortly thereafter was dual diagnosed. After a few years of stumbling through rehabs, mental health diagnosis' and working his addiction issues, he appeared to have it under control. Life was returning to normal most of the time. He lost a loved friend and began to stumble once more. He was sold street drugs, heroin, first time and he snorted it. He never lived to tell about it. The world lost a young man with so much potential and so gifted with talent. He leaves behind an older brother and sister, and a younger brother. And of course his broken hearted parents. He will never be forgotten. Memories last a lifetime, love lasts forever 💔

Chris is my son and my best friend, just and awesome person, loved by all that had the pleasure to know him. I know he's up in heaven with his sister Heather Ann Maccrossen, who was murdered, spending time with her. I will always miss u, think about u all the time. RIH my Son. Love u dad.
